Who we are

Our website address is: http://joan-newcomb.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

The only personal data that we consciously collect is your name and email when you sign up on one of our opt-in forms. We use this for our mailing list only. We do not sell your information to anyone. However, personal data is not just created by your interactions with this site. Personal data is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, comments, cookies, analytics, and third party embeds.

By default this WordPress site does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users. However some of the plugins used here may collect personal data. We have notated that to the best of our ability below.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

We do not allow visitors to upload images to the website. Images used specifically for the blog are, to the best of our ability to verify, are royalty-free. The background and header image is owned by David Newcomb.
